What it covers

The counterpart approach to explosion prevention: rather than stopping a deflagration from occurring, it is allowed to occur and is relieved along a designed path. Sets out how venting area is sized and where the discharge may be directed. In battery enclosures this is the common alternative to the gas detection and ventilation route under NFPA 69.
