What it covers

The general safety standard for power electronic converter systems — the IEC-side equipment-safety basis for a PCS where no dedicated product standard applies. It covers protection against electric shock, energy, fire, and thermal hazards in the converter and its assembly, up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC. Often the reference of record for PCS safety in IEC-aligned markets, alongside the interconnection requirements handled separately.
