IEEE 1547

IEEE Standard for Interconnection and Interoperability of Distributed Energy Resources with Associated Electric Power Systems Interfaces

What it covers

Governs how distributed resources, including storage, are required to behave where they connect to the distribution system. Covers voltage and frequency ride-through, reactive power and voltage regulation capability, response to abnormal conditions, and the communication interface a resource must expose. Note that this standard addresses distribution-level interconnection; transmission-connected plants are typically governed by other requirements.
