A company or individual that originates and advances BESS projects from early-stage site identification through to a construction-ready or operational state — securing land, permits, grid connections, and the investment case along the way.
In energy storage
Some developers focus on greenfield origination and sell the project at the ready-to-build (RTB) stage; others carry projects through construction and into operation as asset owners. For construction, the developer either contracts a single EPC under a turnkey wrap or takes a multi-contract approach — procuring the battery system, BOP, and grid connection packages separately and managing system integration in-house.
