DC Block

The core battery container in a BESS plant. Each DC block houses battery racks (cells → modules → racks), a Battery Management System, fire suppression, and DC protection. Multiple DC blocks are connected in parallel to build up total plant capacity.
In energy storage
A typical utility-scale project combines multiple DC blocks with shared PCS units and a medium-voltage transformer. The standard form factor is a 20-foot shipping container, with capacities ranging from 3 to 10+ MWh per unit depending on cell chemistry and design.
