What it covers

The dominant framework for communication and data modeling in power utility automation, and the backbone for integrating a BESS plant controller and SCADA. The parts most relevant to storage are 7-420 (data models for distributed energy resources), 8-1 and 9-2 (station- and process-bus mappings), and 6 (the substation configuration language). A specification should cite the specific parts rather than the umbrella number.
