Dispatch
Also known as: Charge and Discharge
Directing a BESS plant to charge or discharge at a specified power level. Commands may come from an RTM provider, the asset owner, or a grid operator.
In energy storage
Dispatch commands reach the BESS as active-power setpoints sent to the site controller, which translates them into per-inverter commands across the PCS. On a revenue-stacking site the RTM provider sequences these setpoints throughout the day — for example, charging from the grid during low-price periods, holding SoC for a contracted ancillary service window, then discharging into the evening peak.
