The 2015 edition remains in force. Despite widespread "ISO 9001:2026" discussion, the new edition is only at FDIS and has not published.
What it covers
The quality-management-system standard a BESS supplier, integrator, or EPC is routinely required to hold. It certifies the organization’s processes for consistent quality and continual improvement rather than any product, and is common in supplier prequalification and RFQ scoring. The current edition remains the 2015 one; a revision is in progress but has not published.

The 2024 amendment added climate-change considerations. A sixth edition is at final-draft (FDIS) stage but has not yet published.
