What it covers
The test methods that go with IEC 62933-5-2. Where 5-2 sets the safety requirements for an electrochemical storage system on the grid, this part prescribes how to test a lithium-ion system against those requirements. All test procedures are based on IEC 62933-5-2 Ed. 2.0 and are specific to lithium-ion battery technology. It is the IEC-side test counterpart, roughly analogous in role to what UL 9540A does in the North American route.
