What it covers
The common-specifications standard that underpins medium-voltage switchgear: rated voltages and insulation levels, temperature rise, and the service conditions every other part of the IEC 62271 series builds on. For a storage plant it is the anchor reference for the ring main units and switchgear on the AC collection system, invoked alongside the parts for circuit-breakers and switches.
