What it covers

The general-requirements standard for power transformers: ratings, connections, tapping, temperature rise, and the tests a transformer must pass. It is the base document a BESS medium- or high-voltage step-up transformer is specified against in IEC-aligned markets. The converter-fed, harmonic-rich duty of a storage plant usually pulls in additional references beyond Part 1.
