ENTSO-E
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity — the association of all European TSOs. ENTSO-E coordinates cross-border electricity markets, defines common frequency regulation products (FCR, aFRR, mFRR), and develops the network codes that govern how assets like BESS connect to and operate on the European grid.

ENTSO-E's connection network codes (NC RfG, DCC, HVDC) set the pan-European baseline for how BESS must behave on the grid — covering fault ride-through, reactive power capability, and frequency response. Individual TSOs then set national parameters within the ranges permitted by these codes, so a BESS designed for one European market may still need re-tuning for another.
